Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

Neuropsychological assessment is an important tool in evaluating Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and understanding its impact on an individual's cognitive functioning, behavior, and daily functioning. The assessment typically begins with a thorough clinical interview to gather information about the individual's developmental history, medical history, academic and occupational functioning, as well as current symptoms and challenges related to attention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity.

Neuropsychological evaluations assess various cognitive functions that may be affected by ADHD including different types of attention, executive functions (such as working memory, cognitive flexibility, organization, problem solving, inhibitory control, etc.), processing speed and learning and memory. These tests assist with identifying cognitive strengths and weaknesses as well differentiating ADHD from other conditions that may present with similar symptoms. In addition to cognitive functioning, Dr. Hahn evaluates emotional and behavioral functioning such as mood, anxiety, and social skills, which can be impacted by ADHD.
